Photography Question

Ideas after you have that special shot

Now that I have some special shots, what do I do with them? I have always wondered what all you other photographers do with your prints. Besides photo albums, calendars, family gifts, what are some other ideas of presenting your photos as art? How does one go about having your shot printed on a poster type board, canvas, etc.? I starving for some ideas for presentation.

I just saw a cool LCD picture frame. You can load photo's in it and then it will rotate every couple of minutes. I have never seen one or used one but the concept sounded interesting to me!
You can pick up iron on paper at your local office shop you can down load pics or designs on them and then iron them on to clothes quilting squares etc. I let my son design his own shirt with his photos that he took. It was a fun project. You could also learn to decopage and put pictures on plates boxes etc. Just a couple ideas maybe they will help. :)

Thanks for the tips. Do you ever take your shots to a printer other than a photo lab? I don't even know the terminology but how do the professionals print their shots onto the nice paper that you see? Do you have to do a bulk purchase? Thanks again for your help!

Hi JoAnne, If I find I have an excellent shot and if folks seem to like it and comment on it when I show it to them. I take it and make Note Cards, Birthday, Wedding and Christmas cards to sell. I can't seem to keep up with the demand. Best of all it pays for the paper and ink I use for my Studio work. Hope this is helpful. Diane Thomas

Hi Joanne, Don't know if my response already got sent. I hit something and lost this screen. So sorry if it's a duplicate... ANYHOW,, I was saying go to mpix.com for excellent quaility prints on kodak portra paper. They also do prints on canvas. I have also taken prints to kinkos where they will mount and laminate photos onto a thick foam board that looks good. Another option for taking some of your best shots is to make a collage if you have a program to do it. I will try to attach a sample of my collage I made and blew up to have framed. Have never downloaded pictures here so hope it works. Good luck, Kristi Eckberg

Hi again Joanne, I see my photo did not get displayed with my response. Just click on my gallery to see the idea for the collage. It's the only one in there right now. Kristi Eckberg
