You have a lot of options. You can get it in PS if you'd like quite easily. If you want to achieve it in camera it works best in my opinion in low light photography at long shutter speeds with high ISO. I'm always trying to figure out how to get RID of this. LOL Karma

You'll probably have to work at this in Photoshop or a similar program since the 20D was designed to give very low grain/noise at even ISO 3200. I think even with shutter speeds over 1 second, automatic noise reduction kicks in. If you are using Photoshop, you can go to Filter>Noise>Add Noise. I think that's correct. Otherwise, look around under the Filter menu at the top for something that fits your imagination. Hope this helps a little at least.

I think noise reduction has to be turned on doesn't it? Karma

Maybe, that could be something in a menu. Still, the noise/grain won't be enough for what I think John is looking for. I messed around with a scanned slide I have on my computer, I added noise the way I described above and made sure to check the monochromatic box so the noise wasn't red, green, and blue. The effect looks even better when you turn the picture to grayscale.
