20D battery grip concerns

Hello! I recently ordered a Canon EOS 20D along with the battery grip. I have read some online opinions that the grip leaves something to be desired? From what it sounds like, the grip loosens and may lose it's contact with the camera sometimes? This could obviously be a bad thing. Has anybody had experience with the battery grip for the 20D? I was thinking that something like a small piece of 3M foam could be placed between the grip and the camera to keep it from moving around if that's the problem. Thanks for your help!

I almost ordered the battery grip, and then I reconsidered. I've read reviews of it falling apart, but more importantly I think my habit to turn the camera is too ingrained. The battery grip would just add extra bulk to my camera and I doubt I'd use it. A friend of mine had it and it broke. :-( She also said she always forgot to use it. Don't know if the foam would work or not!
