Modeling Lamps/ Britek hs 600 strobes Is their a difference in modeling lamps? One say 100w/s hologen and another said 100w/s tungsten. If it's a difference what is it and which is better? Buy the way these were britek hs 600 strobes. Thanks

The difference is in the color temperature of the lamp itself. Tungsten lamps burn at roughly 3200-3600 degrees Kelvin and will give daylight film, rated at say 5500 degrees K. appear warmer, or give it an amber cast. Also, as a tungsten light is used, it's color temperature is less consistent than a halogen light and it tends to become warmer until the filament goes out. Halogen lights burn closer to daylight and are more consistent in their Kelvin operating temperature. In my view, quartz halogen lights are brigher, last longer, don't color shift as much, and essentially, the better of the two lamps. But you may like the effect of the tungsten lights and they're usually a bit less expensive. It's really a matter of personal preference. Take it light. Mark

I just read something that said tungsten halogen lamp and it seem to say they are the same. Buying photo equipment is a job in itself when you don't know which is best to get at a less expensive cost.
