indoor flash photography

I want do photography inindoors. Previously I had taken a few rolls but I could not get good results. I have used a Nikon FM 10 with 35-70 mm lens with Nissan flash shutter speed 125/ f5.6 for two persons vertical framing. f4 is four five persons. I was using Kodak 100 ASA film. But the result was not good .also in that hall having good illumination by lighting
now I have FM 2 with 50 mm 1:1.2 mm Nikon lens + Nikon SB 16B flash ( flash synchronizing speed is 250sec). I want do flash photography in same hall in next month. Can you tell me what I have to do for getting good pictures.. Can I use Fuji film !!!
please help me
advance thanks

We cannot be sure what the problem was unless you upload an image. You might want to try IOS 400 film. The SB 16 is a fairly powerful flash but the additional film speed would help. Kodak or Fuji should serve your purpose. You will be able to set your f/stop a little higher, probably around f/11.
