Photography Question

Pat Wimpee

Please need suggestions

I'm beginning to take more pictures of friend's children and I've noticed when doing a pose like this, the baby's shoe appears much bigger than the rest of the photo. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated. This was taken with studio lighting, using the 28-85 IS lens zoomed in.

as an amateur, I would play around with the F value. Not sure though.

Try backing up, and zooming out to 75 or 80 mm.
The exaggerated foreground is a result of a wide-angle setting,...(probably 28 mm).

Try shooting from a slightly higher angle. I found that if I shoot straight on that shoes or, heaven forbid, 'bottoms' look larger than they should.
