You can purchase CS direct from the adobe store, and even download it direct (which is what I'll be doing to upgrade photoshop 5.5 to CS). When I lived in the US I bought a lot of hardware and software from http://www.provantage.com/ and was always happy with them.

I know students (college level) usually can purchase Photoshop at their school software store. It is usually a tremendous savings. Perhaps you have a student in your family or know of one.
