How to prevent shadows with Slave Strobe I use a Fujifilm finepix S5000 digital camera and a pair of (JTL S-25M) Slave Strobes. Over 90% of my photos are head shots (for ID Cards) and all my subjects have shadows on the left side of their faces despite the various settings used on the camera. Note. I am usually approximately 6feet from the subject with strobes 6feet apart and the tripod and camera between them. Please help me to eliminate these embarassing shadows.

Garnet - Increase the strobe output on the left side where the shadow is or move it closer to your subject. I'm not sure of the fujifilm finepix S5000, but if it has a build in flash and the camera is truned on its side putting the built-in flash on the right side then the flash needs to be balanced by again moving the left strobe closer or increasting its output. Sorry about the run on sentence but it needed to be said in one breath. My wife runs into this problem when taking vertical shots. . .the shadow appear on the opposite side of the subjects head. . .lots of digital cloning to kill the shadow. . .but corrected by filling in with light on the opposite side. I have the S5000 and love it! Unfortunately I don't have any experience with additional lighting so I can't suggest anything. Although Chris' suggestion about adjusting the left side light should help!
