Best Digital Camera for Museum Photos I would like to purchase a digital camera to use when I visit art museums. The photos I've taken with a 35mm point-and-shoot without flash have had a very large amount of noise;of the last batch I took only 20% of the photos even printed. I don't require portrait clarity; I use details from various media in my art, and so I want the photos to be good enough to see fairly fine detail. Can anyone help me?

Dear Elizabeth R, I use a Nikon D-70 with the IX lens. The pictures I take are beautiful. What is great about this camera is that you can shut off the flash. The camera is rather expensive but if you want professional results I would highly recommend it. I take many pictures at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, California and you can not use a flash. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Walt Days

I hope you're not buying a digital camera JUST to take pictures in a museum. Many museums [particularly those in NYC] have very strict rules about what can be photographed. Some of these relate to flash photography; some ban all photography. I mean - don't try to take pictures in the Sistine Chapel!
