What is best set-up for instant downloads? I plan to assemble a system to allow for numerous rapid digital photos to be taken (about one photo every second or two for about 20 pictures total)and have these download in rapid succession to a computer running Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. Any advice would be helpful. I was planning on the purchase of a Canon EOS 20D employing a USB 2.0 connection to transmit RAW images to the computer imaging program. I would like to see each image appear on the computer screen as they are generated. I would also like to set up "actions" to allow these images to be rotated and converted to black-and-white while they are downloading. Will this set-up accomplish my goals? If not, what set-up would be advised? What hardware or software problems might I encounter? Thank you for any advice or comments.

Steve, I believe the ability to get instant response on your monitor or TV screen is a proprietary of the camera's software that is installed to your computer, and probably won't link to your editing software. I know from personal experience, using a Fuji S2 in a studio environment, that I have this capability, and use it on occasion. It does NOT, however, open the file in Photoshop, but in the Fuji software, as I mentioned before.I doubt if Canon's software is any different. And I don't think that there is an 'action' to auto-open. You CAN set up some Actions in PS, then open all your selected files in one folder, thus having PS do all you want automatically to each file in the folder. FYI - Sears portrait studios have ideal software similar to what you are looking for. Problem is, I don't know what the software is, and I doubt they'll tell you.
