how to add signature/logo to portrait Before digital photography, how did photographers add their name to photos?

What I have done (and stil do) is use a Coligraphy pen and either gold or silver Coligraphy ink and sign the photo with that. The pen lightly scratches the ink into the picture leaving a perminant and beautiful signiture that will not affect the photograph.
