Photography Question

Todd E. Miller

Remembering Camera settings.....

I am pretty new to this photography thing....

First let me explain delema #1; How do you remember what settings where used for each photo you take? Do I have to carry a notebook with me and make notes after each picture? Sometimes (like with my daughter horse-back riding, I see a moment and "click" not giving much thought as to what settings where used.) I find that once I get my pictures back, and find a good one, I can't remember how I did it.....not easy to learn if you can't remember how you did it.

delema #2; I am reluctant to take lots of pictures because it costs a small fortune to develop. I am trying to convince the wife "I NEED a digital". So, needless to say, I don't really practice as much as I would like to.

Thanks in advance....you will most definetly be seeing many more questions from me in the future.

A digital camera would solve both problems.
You can take take take, and delete those you don't like, and only print the better ones.
Also photo programs like Photoshop Elements tell you what your settings were for each photo...

#1. If I have my camera, I carry a note book with me. After a while it becomes second nature to look at the settings and record. You will thank yourself later.
#2. Someone once said "film is the cheapest part of the hobby".
Good luck with the digital.
