Photography Question

From Digital to slides

Dear Sir I have a very special question.
I know that if you have a photo on a print film then you can have it transfered to a slide via a digital process.
Does that mean that I can take many thousinds of pictures with a digital camera and then have the best of them transfered to slides. To be shovn by a slideprojektor.
How many pixels is it possible to transfer from digital to 24x36 slides
How many from digital to 45x60 mm slides

Sigma has got a digital camera with more than 10 millin pixels for a thousind dollars plus vat.
Unfortunately the best and extremly expensive videoprojektors can only show stills at about 3 milion pixels.
So my question is can I economicly take a lot of 10 MB pixels pictures and have the best pictures transfered in photolab to slides and then show them on a slideprojektor? What is the aproximate price for one picture.
Offcourse it will be far from as good quality as pictures taken direktly on a slidefilm. Bur it does sound more economicle. And the quality might just be reasneble for a semiprofessionel slideshow.
How many pixels are therre on a normal 100 Iso film (aproximastely)
Yours truly mr Peter (lukas) Johansen

Check out these two online labs. I use them both with great success:
www.slides.com and www.iprintfromhome.com. Each specializes in producing high res film slides from digital files. They can each handle files up to 4096x2731 ppi, which equates to a 32 MB file.
