Sunpak Flashes

I am looking into buying either a Sunpak Electronic Flash Auto 522or a Sunpak Auto 511 Thyristor Flash. My question is: Will this work with my Pentax K1000 or ME? I will be using this in wedding photography. Maybe this would be to powerful???...any help will be great. THANKS!

The Sunpak 511 would be my choice here. The K1000 has no internal ttl flash meter, so you don't need a flash with that capability. If you opt for the ME body, it may have TTL flash capabilities (I'm not sure), in which case you'd be better off with the 522. Don't ever worry about a flash being "too powerful." In Auto mode, it will provide the correct amount of flash, then shut itself off. In manual mode you can reduce the power. I'd certainly opt for the camera mounted sensor if buying either of these flash units, and also a Quantum-type external battery pack.
