Photography Question

Shooting Maternity/Newborn B&W

I've long been a fan of pregnancy/newborn photography, especially done in black and white.

I'd love to learn how to take these kinds of photos and have a Kodak digital camera (DX4900) as well as 35mm SLR (Pentax) with lots of lenses to learn on.

Can anyone give me some idea where to get started? What kinds of lighting and backdrops will I need? Do I need editing software? Suggestions on any aspect of this process would be helpful since I'm a newbie and really don't know where to start.

Thanks!

Barbie

I don't think this is more specific than regular portraiture. So I would suggest learning basic techniques and lighting for portraiture. This is just my opinion.
