filters

I PURCHASED SPECIAL EFFECT FILTERS AND A DOUBLE EXPOSURE FILTER AND I'M NOT GETTING THE EFFECTS I'M SUPPOSE TO GET.

THE DOULBLE EXPOSURE FILTER DOES NOT GIVE ME THE TWO PICTURES ON ONE FRAME, I GET PIECES OF EACH FRAME. ALSO WITH THE FOG AND SOFT FOCUS FILTERS I DON'T GET THE EFFECTS. I'M I DOING SOMETHING WRONG OR DID THE COMPANY SELL ME DEFFECTIVE FILTERS.

For the soft focus filter, did you take one frame with and one without and then compare? The double exposure filter, as its name indicated, required double exposure (or multiple exposure). Your camera has to set to double exposure mode. If your camera is a digital, there is no double exposure feature. In this case, you can take two frames and then use PS to cut and paste, or layers, whatever it calls. Hope this helps.

double exposure filter needs to certain apeture range to work right. To wide, you don't get half the frame blocked out. Two small, you don't get one side blending in with the other.

The effect given by fog, soft focus, and star filters also varies with the aperture. Greatest effect is with large apertures (f/1.4-4). At smaller apertures (f/5.6-22) there may be little noticable effect.
