This is one of the photos from my first baby show - 60 babies in 2 hours- nerve racking but a lot of fun - It was lit with 2 studio lights at 45degree angles from behind me sorry i cant remember the camera settings from the day - i softened and blurred the background in photoshop afterwards

First shot: In my opinion, you may have blurred a little too much, or you used too large an f-stop. Part of the baby is a little too blurry. Otherwise, I like it.

Last shot: Looks fine to me. Sometimes you can't get a smile. Sometimes, you don't want one. I like the feel of this one.

Night shots: You might want to try shooting the same shots a little earlier in the evening when you can get a little ambient light. The third shot seems a little too dark to me (may be my monitor as it is not properly calibrated) but there is something about it that really speaks to me. I really like this one - a lot. You have done good work.

I agree with Kerry's response about the baby picture- it looks just a tad too blurry. I really like your night shots though- for a first time at attempting it I'd say they turned out great! I just can't get my night shots to turn out the way I want them to. I really like the 2nd night shot- it doesn't look too dark too me- very blue- I like it. It gives the photo a distinct mood. Very nice.

Thanks for the comments- I agree- the first baby shot is a bit blurry, id have liked a bit more time to compose the shots from the baby competition, I was a bit stuck for time though - I had 60 babies to photograph in 2 hours lol 2 minutes each- although maybe this is normal.
Kerry the blue bridge ive redone -i've recropped to a slightly different size, more panoramic and printed on archival matte paper - ill post it tomorrow - I think the resizing and cropping really lends itself to the picture and id love to hear your opinion on the differences between the two.
Hi Shauna, I have to say I loved my first night shoot and its gave me a load of ideas id like to try- the belfast waterfront photograph I didnt get as sharp as I would have liked (buildings and river) Have you any idea how to stop the lights flaring so much- I like a little flaring to add to the effect?

oh ive put another couple of photos on
