Photography Question

Andy Fay

how to shoot fashion/ people in clothes?

Im shooting for a friends online magazine, and he wants me to emphasize on the clothing, not so much the people? Like have the back ground realy washed out? So I was wandering about the types of film I should use? what speed? And what types of lighting, maybe certin tricks, or background ideas?

For clothing shots, you want to have strong cross-lighting or side lighting to bring out the texture of the material. Aim your light(s) to keep the face darker so as not to bring attention to it, and if necessary, use a gobo.
