metering off
thanks kerry for the reply, when u say meter off the sky u mean that I dont meter the sky or its the other way around? how do I know the hyperfocal distance for my lens. thanks manish

You get your meter reading from the sky, the brightest part of the picture. If your lens has a distance scale, put the infinity mark just at the f-stop you are shooting at. Actually, with a silhouette, you can just focus at infinity and you will get the same result. You do need to learn how to shoot at hyperfocal distance for daytime scenics though.
