Photoshop elements 3.0

I am a total beginner in Photoshop. I just purchases Elements 3.0, don't know enough to even start. Suggestions on the basics- resizing, most used tools, etc. Any advice is appreciated.

Image size can be changed by clicking on the title bar. Image>Image size. The window with the size of the image comes up.
There's also the cropping tool in the tool palette. It's the square shaped easel type image. If you click on windows in the tool bar and then click on options so the options window comes up, you can combine that with the crop tool to crop to a specific size and resolution.
That's a basic way on PS 5.0 LE. Should be the same for Elements 3.
