For long term solution if you are a serious traveller cum photographer like me, you might want to consider digital wallet. It is a portable harddisk with interface to card media (eg Compact Flash Card) which enable you to browse and copy the files from the media onto to the disk.

Every time your CF card is full, you just copy the contents onto the digital wallet (which you can upload onto your PC later). You can then erase/format the CF card and reuse it again and again.

It is a bit pricey but worth the hassle.
Search for digital wallet on the internet

  Sharon -

Id offer that there are a couple more considerations. 1) Microdrives are definitely more fragile than a Compact Flash card - more than a few folks have had these expensive microdrives fail on them. 2) The biggest advantage of a microdrive - you can put a LOT of images on it - is also its downfall, in my view - you can LOSE a lot of images all at one time if it fails or is lost. Myself, I have 8 256mb Compact Flash cards - if one fails, or I lose one, I will have a lot of images still with me. What's the phrase, don't put all your cookies in one basket?

I happen to use Sandisk - 7 of 8 of my cards are Sandisk, the other is a Lexar. But that isn't for any reason other than those were the major-brand ones that were available at good prices in my area, not because I feel they are superior.
