Photography Question

Portraits

I really like b&w portraits of interesting people. I often find myself wanting to take someone's picture but am afraid they will see me doing so. In your experience, do most people react to this type of thing? Is it something that you should definitely ask permission to do??

This is like street photography. Go to www.topica.com and there's a list on street photography if you want to check out some egs. But generally you can take pictures of anybody in a public place (ie don't shoot from the street into their private homes), ie shoot people in the park, fairs, carnivals etc is okay (with a camera..hehehe). But if you plan on selling your work or getting profit from it you have to have a model release form filled in. As I said the street photography people are really good with stuff like that so go have a look. Have a look at www.streetphoto.com for some shots as well.
