Nikon D70 vs Canon D20

On buying a camera for my husband, should I go with Nikon's D70 or Canon's D20? Also, for those cameras, what lenses if buying only two.?

Both are great cameras. One thing to consider is if your husband has 35mm slr and it say a Nikon then I would lean toward getting the Nikon D70 as it will save you buying lenses. Nikon is also offering a $100.00 rebate right now until Dec. 31, 2004. I do want you to know I don't work for Nikon I just know because I recently got the Nikon D70 myself. I battled back and for over the same 2 cameras. I am glad I went with the Nikon it does everything I need it to and owning a Nikon slr my lenses work fine on it.

The Nikon vs Canon thing is like the Ford vs Chevy Alot of it is preference for like the Ford and Chevy are both great auto makers Nikon and Canon are both great camera makers and the D70 and the 20D are both wonderful cameras.

The D70 has a kit deal as well which comes with a lens.

As far as what lenses you need to buy that depends on what your husband likes to take pictures of and how much your budget can afford to spend on lenses.

Hope this helps some.

Terry

Thanks Terry for responding. I am a Nikon user and probably would go with a N70, but he has no lenses and therefore have decided to go with the Canon D20.
Hope this is the right decision!!!!

Considering this thread was started back in 2004, I'll bet she's already purchased the camera.

What is it lately on BP with people rehashing threads that are six and four years old?
