Photography Question

Canon kit lense & canon DSLR

I have EOS 3000V/Rebel K2/Kiss Lite. and kit lenses 28-90 1:4:5.5 58mm & 90-300 1:4:5.5 58mm.
I was planning to buy a canon EOS 300D/Digital Rebel/Kiss Digital (digital) to suit with these lenses.
But I just read a article, which says that these lenses are too cheap, and dont give good results. So I am really thinking is it worth spending on canon kiss digital just to suit these lenses? or should I think of better DSLR and new set of lenses? Please guide if you know better cameras and may be results of kiss digital with such lenses.

This is just my opinion. If the lenses you already have worked for your film camera and you are happy with the result, they should also work on the digital camera, although you probably aware of the 1.6 cropping factor. If you do a lot of enlargements and for commercial use, of course the more expensive lenses, if use properly, will yield better results. I would suggest you learn the techniques in how to improve your photography skills instead of depending solely on the equipment. Just my 2 cents.

  Hi Andy,

Thank you for your response.
Actually I am really not understanding wheather I am happy with the result or not. I am not feeling really great when I see my photos. I dont understand if it is because of lenses or my incapability !!! So if anybody have used these lense please share your views.
Can I go for EOD 10D , what is the diameter ,as my camera is 58mm.

Note: in lense specs please read as 1:4:5.6 instead of 5.5

Thanks once again,
Swapnali

You can use those lenses on the 10D. The mount (the side that attached to the camera) is the same for all the EF lenses. The 58mm is the diameter of the lens in case you want to attach a filter on it. Without seeing a photo, it is hard to tell what is wrong. I had a Canon EOS F100n with the cheapest 35-80mm f4-5.6 lens (more than 10 years old) for a while. I have enclosed two photos that I took at Grand Canyon using that camera/lens set a few years ago. The film I used was Kodak Royal Gold. What do you think?

Hi Andy,

Thank you for your response.
I am attaching two photos here. The green valley photos is using tripod & the another is not using tripod. But both the photos are taken with 20-90mm lense. I sometimes feel that the clarity less in 90-300mm lense , I will also upload the photos taken by it soon.

Thanks a lot,
Swapnali
