Tamron 28-200 on Nikon D70

I have a Tamron 28-200 AF XR (IF) lens mounted on a new Nikon D70. Most of the D70 functions seem to work BUT I am getting some poor focus results and poor fill-in flash results (and difficulty getting the fill-flash to work per the Nikon directions). Any idea if this lens does NOT talk the same language as the D70? Are they incompatible?

I also have Tamron 28-200 (bought 6 yr ago) and 28-300 they both work perfectly on my D 70. The 28-200 even performs better. So it seems your lens is an individual case. Make sure you read the D70 manual thoroughly if you are sure that you follow everything (icludes the difficult to focus part) in the manual the problem still exsist, better get your lens to the dealer for check.
