Compact 35 mm film cameras

I have been into digital photography for the last three years or so and thoroughly enjoy it however I have a daughter, Fiona, who is off travelling in Australia for a year from this December. As a going away present I had intended to get her an entry level digital camera but she says she prefers to have a 35 mm compact film camera.
There doesn't seem to be that much choice these days (thanks to digital!) but can other members give me any guidance on a good compact 35 mm film camera. It seems to be Canon 150U or the Nikon Lite equivalent. I am based in the Uk so my budget would be up to about £150.00. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

35mm compact cameras are quite handy so going down under will definitely be FUN with a fine brand. Try Rollei's PREGO 130 WA (38-160mm ), Konica's Zoomate 140 SE ( 38-140mm ),Leica has the C-1 Zoom with Black or Chrome tints (38-105mm ),and Olympus has the Stylus Zoom Select Epic Zoom 170. Bring LOTS of film and HAPPY TRIP!
