Sigma 70-200 I am getting ready to buy the Sigma 28-200 F2.8 lens HSM. I was just talking to the sales man at HotbuysElectronics.com They had the lowest price. 619.98. They then tried to up sale me saying that they had 2 types one with a plastic mount and one with a metal mount. I know there are differences in waranty some have USA others oversees. Is there 2 type of 70-200 lenses Plastic or metal?

You were being lied to. There is only one version of the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 EX HSM and it is very well-built with a metal mount. The salesman was simply attempting a tactless bait and switch. Even if you insisted on the "plastic mount" lens for $619.98 you would never get it. They'd simply never deliver it (claiming "production delays") and wait for you to cancel or upgrade your order (for more $$) to lens that actually exists. Check out retailers at http://www.resellerratings.com, and never do business with one rated lower than the average (7.14). HotBuysElectronics.com is rated 1.72.

Thanks Jon, I went with B&H instead a little more money, but a much better reputation.

I just received my Sigma 70-200 F2.8 EX lens. WOW what a difference better glass makes. I know it is not one of the high end Canon lenses, but it is a big improvement over my older lenses. I can't believe how quiet it is when focusing. When I first pushed down to focus I thought it was broken. There was no noise. B&H did a great job for me.

Hi Mike! I use B&H as my primary mailorder source & KEH.com as my secondary source! Either one of these businesses has a great reputation for taking care of their customers!!!
