How to shoot with a sepia filter in black and whit I am trying to shoot portraits with the "OLD TYME" feel to them. I have tried shooting color film and it does give it a brownish hue, but when I used the filter on black and white film, there was NO visible result of any change. Can I achieve the antique look I'm after shooting black and white film?

Hey, I saw a bunch of pictures recently that were a great sepia colour. I asked the photographer how she did it and she said that she just shot on black and white film in the regular manner, but asked the developers at the photolab to print her pictures on colour printing paper. Apparently this works, as the results was very impressive. You might want to check that out...ask around before you do it though, as I'm not 100% certain it works (ask the developers). Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I'll ask my developer and see what they have to say.
