Lens

I wanted to buy a lens for my D70 and also my F100 nikon camera. I was ask to shoot a wedding and I taught of buying a 28-105 f/3.5 nikkor lens or a 28-70 f/2.8 nikkor lens. Which of the two do you recommend?

Thanks

MaryAnn

  Hi, Maryann
I also have these lens and cameras. From my experience, the 28-105 is good for outdoor photos and for amateur; for takeing pictures inside the church the 28-70 f2.8 is a better choice, it is a profesional lens. From the view point of opitical properties, the Nikkor 28-70 f2.8 has 2 ED glass element and moulded glass aspherical lens element also with SWM. Whilst the Nikkor 28-105 does not have SWM and no ED element. Its asperical lens is hybrid-type which means part of this lens element is made of non-glass material. From the difference of the price somehow refects its value. The only problem for me is the weight of the 28-70 f2.8 is double of the 28-105.
