Please help dust and hair


Hi everyone can you please help I have a Nikon F75 there is what looks like dust particles and tiny hairs when I look through the veiwfinder, I have cleaned the lense and mirror even when without lense fitted it is still there it is driving me to drink { well a few large grouse or four ] please help .Cheers

  It's on the view finder screen. If it bugs you, take to a shop and get it cleaned. If you can live with it, it dosen't do anything to the picture.

Im now going to sound like a real fool Can anyone explain to me what the term prism stands for is it just a normal lense or somethiing completely diferent.

  Prism like the triangular shape of glass that splits light into a spectrum.
slr's also have a prism inside that uses the diffractive properties of glass that let you see into the viewfinder and down to the mirror inside the camera.
Because of the way it's cut and light angles, light entering the prism is internally reflected. So you can see thru a lens that is actually an inch or two below where your eye actually is.
Some focusing screens also are describe as being micro prism. When something is out of focus you see it as distored into little triangles in the little circle in the middle of the view finder.
