Nicht Sky Shots

Anyone have an tips on Night time shots of the stars? I would like to do some photos of the movement of the stars and of the moon as well. Anyone have any tips on timing and other settings. I am using a Minolta SRT101 with 28-80mm lense. Thanks a bunch.

Hello, I read in a book once about shooting stars, here is what it said.
To shoot star trials, the only equipment you need is a tripod and a camera with a B or T setting. To get an exposure where each star moves thourgh 10 degrees, which gives a reasonable impression of movement, an exposure of 40 minutes is needed.A fast film with a rating of around IOS 400, and the widest apertire available, are useful because the added sensitivity and exposure will mean that more stars are revealed in the picture.
