Photography Question

Ron Bolger

Thanks

For want of a better forum I place this here.
Not a question but a comment
I would like to thank everyone (twenty or so) of last month’s winners who responded to my personal email congratulating them and inquiring as to which classes they took here at BP and how they feel they have benefited and improved their skills as photographers through them.
I would like to, however, not a damn one of you felt it was worth your time or effort to respond.
Perhaps the next course you take should be on common courtesy.
Talk about making a person feel all warm and fuzzy.
Thanks for nothing.
Ron

Ron- I wasn't one of the people you asked, but if you'd like to e-mail me I would be glad to tell you about the classes I have taken here at BP.

  Hi Ron-
I received your e-mail and sent a response, but it was returned. Do you have another valid address I could try? I'm wondering if that was the problem with the other people you had contacted.

I was not one of the people you emailed (nor have I yet taken any classes here). However, I have previously emailed several people with questions and comments and every one of them has answered. Most people on this site seem pretty open to helping out, especially the people who enter regularly and comment on other's photos and questions. I'm sorry you didn't get a better response, but maybe Kathleen's right.

Pam

I have had the same email addy for more than three years and other than an occasional attachment problem it seems to be error free. I get all the BP thread response notices and newsletters in that box.
If it is my mailbox then crow is what I shall eat and perhaps I did typo the address, I have done stupider things.
This is the address that I have

woodsmith102000@yahoo.com

The return addy on the note you sent thru my member gallery was woodsmith10200@yahoo.com....you seem to have missed a zero. :)

Not certain why it showed up as 200 and not 2000.
Kathleen I am glad that you sent me a copy of my original letter to you, at least I know that I did not type in the wrong addy in the body of the letter. There must be a glitch in the system or something as I let the computer remember my addy so all I need do is type the first letter (far less chance of my messing up) and the address it remembers is correct.

So that having been said to those of you that did try and answer my letters I appologize for being curt.

Ron

  Hi Ron.
You also sent me an e-mail, about a month ago. When I tried to respond, it came back to me as well. Didn't know how else to get back with you! :)

Well it looks like the prob is in the system so I have just written Admin to change my addy to an outlook version.
HOpefully this will cure the prob cuz I really do want some insights from the people who have taken classes.

Regardless of the reason for not getting a response, sometimes unsolicited emails get responded to, sometimes they don't.
Something that should be simple to deal with if a responses dosen't come.

Yes Gregory, I agree I suppose I should have waited for an invitation to write these people. What was I thinking.

If you send out a bunch of emails, meaning unsolicited, you may not get a reply to every single one. Which isn't a far fetched concept and which also seems to be going severly overboard to come back cussing at them.
But, people not being able to deal with small things is a growing trend.
The point is mute as the saying goes.

Thank you Gregory, now please go back and read the enitre thread so you know what direction this discussion ended one and then try to come up with a response that is helpful.

Did read them. Take a breathe, relax, get over it if a small thing like an email going unresponded to happens again.
Cool runnings Rasta!!

Your comments are unproductive, please either pass along some insights on the classes you've taken here or stop responding.

  Ron,

Below is the email that you sent me. I thought your message was kind and I did answer it, but my reply got bounced. I even tried to send a reply to different permutations of your email address, and it got bounced several times. I spent about 15-20 minutes trying to track down the right address and then gave up.

I do wish that before assuming that everyone didn't want to reply to you (and posting a nasty message here), you could have checked to see if you did anything incorrect in sending the message. You clearly mistakenly typed in the wrong return email address.

Folks here are generally very polite and friendly. I will reforward my email to your correct email address.

Rob

I am condidering taking some courses heree and am curious as to how many, if any, BP courses you have taken and if you feel they have been a measurable help to you in your photography.
