Marni, If that did'nt help then use the rule of charging 3 to 5 times more than it cost you to produce those images you own, simple...huh, well the more time you spend finding out how much you need to charge, the more successful you'll be at targeting your work to the right markets and getting the money you need to keep your business or your life going. Keep in mind that what you charge for an image may be completely different from what someone else charges. It all depends on your overhead, the money that you spent on your equipment to make those images. Start by estimating expenses, these may include property, utilities, insurance on equipment, supplies, taxes, etc. Next, figure personal expenses, food, clothing, medical, auto and home ins., gas and other auto expenses, investments, retirement savings, etc.
If you are not selling these photos as your main job then you could just as well charge anything you want for them.
And pick up the book "SellPhotos.com" and try this software "fotoQuote" a package that is updated each year to list typical stock photo and assignment prices, 1(800)679-0202, (www.cradoc.com)
I hope this helps. "Happy New Year!"

I was contacted by a company wanting to buy the marketing rights to four of my photos for use on their pet food products. They paid me $1500 for them, plus 2 years' worth of their food. I have no idea if that was the going rate or not, but I was tickled pink considering I still maintain copyright and can still market them in any non-petfood related way.

Congratulations!
