Emulsion on film and colour correction.

Why does black and white film need colour correction? What three emulsions are coated on modern colour film?

I've never heard of black and white needing color correction. Different colored filters are used for contrast, but never heard anyone say it needs color correction.
Unless they mean the different emulsions on polycontrast paper that react differently to blue light, and I think red. Anyway, to get higher contrast the filters are different shades of purple. And to decrease contrast, they're different shades of yellow.
Try a kodak or fuji website for the other question.
