black and white developing

My friend and I are doing a science fair project over developing black and white film and how the color of the light (red, blue, yellow, ect.) affects the turnout of the picture. What bulb color is the best to use and why? I can't find websites anywhere on this topic. Does anyone know of one? We'd really appreciate some input.

If you are using Ilford paper or films, the technical papers at http://www.ilford.com/html/us_english/bw.html give safelight recommendations.

Kodak's recommendations can be found in Tech Info. K-4: How Safe Is Your Safelight? (and associated links), and Tech Info. TI0845: Kodak Safelight Filters.

not sure what ur question is but NO safelight is safe for film, red or dark amber will work for the paper, but the film has to be kept in the dark

if you're talking about taking a picture under different colored light, just get some filters for your lens. or some colored gels or tinted plastic.
If you mean making a print in a darkroom with different colored light, you can still use lens filters.
Contrast filters come in different shades of yellow to reduce contrast, and shades of purple to increase contrast.
