SB-28 WHY CAN'T I GET FIGURE THIS THING OUT
I have a Nikon F100 and an SB-28 which I purchased about 5 months ago. I don't do much flash photography, but when I try to use the flash, it's so incredibly complicated. I used it today putting it on TTL and my camera on program. I only wanted fill flash. It seemed to be working okay. But,then later in the day, I still had it on TTL, but for some reason it stopped changing the zoom lenths and the aperature readings of my camera. I didn't change anything on the camera or the flash. My light conditions changed to a brighter location, but that was all.I just want to use it in it's basic mode. Also, how do you get rid of those shadows behind heads. I just bought a strobe arm...is that the only solution? I'm really worried that I'm going to get those awful shadows behind heads. Thanks....

Sorry, I'm not familiar with Nikon flash to help with the TTL question. Re - shadows The strobe arm will help put the shadows below the subject's shoulder. Otherwise, use bounce flash or get your subjects away from the wall.

Hi Angie, I have sb28 on An F5. If everything is unchanged like u said, try this , check one last time on sb 28 lcd display panel and see whether above the zoom if there's a "M'. If there is then press zoom a few times until it disappears and u are in auto zoom again. I jus checked out my setting after I read this thread and confirmed it. U could have accidentally touched or the button hit something.
