Use of Filters When do you use a neutral density filter and a polarizing filter? Can you use both at the same time? What is the decision criteria of which filter to use between the ND and polarizing filter?

The polarizer is used to reduce glare and reflection from non-metallic surface. At the correct angle, it will help you see through water and make the blue sky bluer. The ND is solely used to reduce light reaching the film/sensor. There are times you may want to extend the exposure time like getting the silky effect of running water or open up the aperture in portrait to throw the background out of focus. You can use both at the same time if you decide. When taking photos of waterfalls or rivers during day time, I always stack them on my lens. But be VERY, VERY careful stacking filters on the lens, especially wide angle lens. It's very easy to get vignetting (black corners) on the photos. If at all possible, wait for the light to change instead of stacking filters. Hope this helps.
