Outdoor Portraits I am trying to perfect outdoor portraits. I have a Canon Rebel 2000 with a quantaray 70mm-300mm 3.5-22. I usually use Fuji 400 speed film. I always try to get in full shade to avoid harsh back lighting and use 80-100mm lens. I have found it frustraiting to get the right exposer using a fast shutter speed, so I slow down the shutter speed from 60-125 and notice that the pictures are not as sharp as I would like. If I use a tripod at a slower shutter speed and the person I am photographing moves, will it still be blurred? I would appriciate any suggestions!

Lesley, Try using a very large aperture - You get a very shallow depth of field which draws attention to your subject, and can give the background a romantic blur while keeping you subject in focus. Outdoors with a 400 speed film should not be providing you with such slow aperture speeds! If you could submit a photo, maybe we can find out why it's blurring the shot. A 100mm lens should be able to get clear photos hand held at 1/125th of a second anyway. To directly answer your question, at 1/60, most movement would not be caught on film unless you are catching portraits of people running or playing.
