Grainy Photos

What I am I getting grainy results? Some but not all of hte photos I am taking are comming out grainy. The same shot taken a few seconds apart on auto ap priroty (on Press 400 and NPH) are totally different. I had thought it was a problem with my light meter and resulting underexposure but on one roll I have mixed results. Any idea what I am doing wrong? See images

What camera are you using? If you are indoors using a flash it's possible the "same shot taken a few seconds later" didn't allow enough time for the flash to cycle back to full charge.

I use a cannon EOS 33. These particular shots were taken outside, but I do get the same issue inside (mostly the ones indoors are all grainy , I genreally try not to use a flash)
