Photography Question

Michelle Ross

How much $$??

If I were to go ask for a loan to get started with Photography how much would the bare minimum be? The only thing I have is the camera and tripod. I don't have many props at all nor a lighting system for studio type work.

Usually with a business loan you need to have a business plan. Google for example business plans. That will get that portion started. 1/3 of busnisses that fail, fail because they did not ask for enought money. What I suggest is, you total all the equipment you want or need. Then add in Rent and anyother possible bills you may incur over the next 12 months. My accoutning teacher also sugegsted to add the mortgage payments. Your first few months of business will be slow and you may be unable to make the payment until word of mouth gets around. If you end up asking for to much you can always send it back so it will be applied to the loan and decrease the amount you pay in interest. HTH

You'd need enough to cover a couple of year's living expenses, so, at least $100K
