Capture Old Slides

Recently I was able to obtain some very old family slides, taken 35+ year ago, plus an equally old projector. Some of the slids are in mint condition, others slightly damaged and they consist of a mix of indoor and outdoor slides.

Projection onto a white wall, A1 white paper etc. still produces a good quality picture.

Giving the deteriorating condition of the slides, I am keen capture the projected slides with my (amateur) digital camera [KODAK DX6430].

Can anyone assist me, with some recommendations regarding settings (i.e. aperture, shutter speed, etc.)to obtain good results. Or at least some advice as to what settings to try.

Regards

Karl

Your best bet is to have them scanned with a good film scanner.
I've tried (years ago), photographing projected slides and they never looked that great. Some were "passable" at best but were nowhere near the image quality of the originals.
