Photography Question

Rochelle K. Westgarde

What is the best digital on the market today?

I am just starting out in Photograghy,
my question is this, what is the best digital camera on the market?
I am willing to spend the money on a camera, but I am concerned that I will end up paying to much for a camera that you are paying just for the name.
I welcome all comments....
Thankyou Rochelle.

I absolutely love the Canon Digital Rebel. I chose this camera because I had a collection of Canon lenses that went to my Canon film Rebel. I researched cameras for 2 months and have had no regrets.

The Canon Digital Rebel is an entry-level D-SLR. There are much, MUCH more expensive and better cameras.

I'd say with cameras, you basically get what you pay for. If you pay less for a camera, you will get less quality. The more you pay the better you'll get. It may seem sometimes that you are paying for a "brand," but unlike with clothing and other merchandise, brands DO equal quality when it comes to cameras. Canon and Nikon can charge more because they have the best quality. They're constantly researching and always have the best technologies.

I don't know what the best digital camera is, but you can easily pay several thousand dollars for a high quality SLR body.

Hope that helps,
Nancy

Thankyou very much for your reply.
I myself was looking at the Rebel, but I already have a Pentax MZ-7 and different lenses to go with it, so I was looking at the istD from Pentax.
The only problem is this, the Rebel goes for around $1300-$1400 and the istD is around $2200.00, I am concerned that I am paying almost a thousand dollars more for a camera that is just as good as the Rebel.
Do you know anything about the istD?
I would appreciate a reply.
Thank you,
Rochelle
