Jazz - the old saying goes that it's the photographer's creativity, not the equipment, that makes the photograph! Either of these cameras will give you the technical functions for doing weddings. That said, there are only a few things that you need to be sure your camera has for photographing weddings - the ability to control shutter and aperture settings; a flash synch speed that is as least 1/125 or 1/250 for using flash outdoors in bright conditions, as fill flash; a high enough megapixel rating for good enlargements (sounds like either of these will do the job), and finally, a comfortable fit in your hand and easy to access controls for quick setting changes when the action is happening fast as it can in weddings. Good luck!

They would both work perfectly. However, shooting weddings with digital is more work than it'w worth. People are doing it, but I'm not sure I want to dive into it yet. I did a small wedding all digital a few weeks ago and spent about 6 to 8 hours behind the computer.

With film I spend about 0 hours behind the computer. I drop the film at the lab and enjoy my day.

I enjoy digital, but for large volume production work, frankly, it sucks.

Just something to think about.
