Photography Question

monitor calibration

I was wondering how to calibrate your monitor, so your photos will look the way they are supposed to on your computer screen. My photos aren't looking right. Also, when I show my pics on my friend's pc, they are really dark.

If you have a PC and Adobe Photoshop, start - control panel - adobe gamma.
Then just follow the instructions. It would be better to do it with special hardware and software, but I think you will be OK with adobe gamma.

I have Photoshop Elements. Can I still perform this task?

I don't know about that. You can look in your control panel and see if Adobe Gamma is there.
