Nikon D70- General lense ?


I am about to purchase the Nikon D70 after extensive research...whew!
O.K., now with all the kit options out there, first and foremost, does anyone see a better option here:
option one:
- D70 Digital SLR Camera Body
- Sigma 28-80mm Autofocus Lens
- Sigma 70-300mm Autofocus Lens
- Sigma Gadget Bag


Option two:
- D70 Digital SLR Camera Body
- Nikon 18-70mm F/3.5-4.5G ED-IF AF-S Lens
My obvious concern is in the Sigma lenses. Last but not least (sorry for the lengthy correspondence) what is the best landscape lense (17mm-40mm, 70mm-200mm or both)? I am really interested in Nikon's new 28-300 but will it really give that true wide angle that they state?
