Are you using paper for your ink jet printer, or doing actual photo developing at home?

hello sheryl, sorry its taken me awhile to get back to you. I usually use the kodak picture paper, but wanted to know if there was a better ,thicker paper like what they use for senior pics. I only have a Lexmark for a printer. Just wanted to have the pics come out nice. What is the Matte paper like ? Thicker, thinner or just different ?

I strongly suggest that you get your prints online from a reputable online digital photo lab. Printing senior pics is a bad idea because over time the ink will fade. Instead, get them online (relatively cheap 19 cents for 4x6 standards, up to 2 dollars for 8x10). They process your prints exactly like film so there is no danger of fading and your memories will be preserved. Good luck with your photos! They will be delivered right to your house (or you can get packages shipped to relatives if you want). You can choose, matt, glossy and sometimes super gloss. Winkflash gets good reviews. Also, back them up on CD. Karma

I agree with Karma. You'll get the best results with a photo lab. As for inkjet papers, there are some nice matte ones. HP Premium Plus Matte is lovely and quite heavy. Epson Matte Heavyweight is totally flat, like card stock. The weight of the paper is usually listed on the pkg. such as "10 mil," which is quite heavy. In some stores, they have samples of the various papers so you can take a look and a feel. Red River makes some beautiful papers and has sample packs you can get.

I have tried many kinds of photo paper, even to one that is recommended for my printer, but I keep coming back to Canon Pro paper. Try it you'll see what I mean.
