i have been wondering the same thing ...i just stumbled across this section on picture.com ....i was feeling pretty good about the fact I had made it to the semi-finalist list ...now ...well ...i feel crushed...oh well it was a nice feeling for awhile, one good thing is I didn't waste money on the book !!!!

they give out prizes. the whole operation is based on you wanting to say you got your picture in a book, they'll put your picture in a book. though there's a couple of long threads about it, it's not illegal, and it's really not a scam. If I went around telling every parent their kid is photogenic, and $200 I'll take some pictures for them to get them in commercials, I may eventually get some takers. It's not illegal, not a scam as long as I give them the pictures. But what parent won't believe their kid isn't photogenic.
