Category Clarification: Special Effects In the photo contest, isn't "Digital Darkroom" for digitally created effects and "Special Effects" for more traditionally created effects? When I was looking through "Special Effects," I was seeing a lot of things that looked digital. Is there a way to sort out the digital effects from the traditional effects? I'm trying to learn new camera techniques and wanted to see some samples with explanations. Pam

Thanks Gregory. None of those pictures really describes how they did it though. Are they all traditional manipulation methods (or non-digital manipulations, anyway)? Pam

not every picture is like that. That red car isn't. They're just trying to give you a general idea anyway. They tell you zoom during exposure, paint with light, polaroid transfer. The digital darkroom is for green skies and the swirl thing so many people keep doing. I knew that was going to cause confusion. But regular filters, exposure length experiments, something done by hand, or real life double exposures. That's what they meant by special effects. Some of those are self explanatory. The others you can look up in a book store.
