What type of camera should I buy? We have a family of hummingbirds outside one of our windows and I would like to purchase a camera with a telephone lense so I can photograph them. Not sure what I need. Don't want to mortgage the house on one, but since I've never owned one with this capability need suggestions please.

Dear Kathleen, you will require a basic Film AFSLR with Aperture Priority/Mannual modes on and a 75-300mm Telezoom not forgetting a tripod to keep camera shake away with this 75-300 lens. Pick up a "What Camera magazine" up to give you n idea of what cameras are available and what you like, there are new and second hand models, what make of Camera is up to you. At the end of the day it's what you like that matters, but they all do the same job.
