The Best Sigma Zoom Lens for EOS 300/Rebel 2000

Well I am confused at the kinds of lenses we have in the market. What does the name mean, for example? Sigma has:

28-200 F3.5/5.6 EF
28-200 F2.8/5.6 PAF
28-200 F3.8-5.6 NAF

So what does each name signify?

These are all Sigma? Per their site they list just a 28-200 f/3.5-5.6. I'm guessing that "PAF" is the Pentax mount, "NAF" is the Nikon mount. "EF" may be the Canon EF mount.

Canon is introducing their own EF 28-200 f/3.5-5.6 USM that will have close focusing (0.5m) plus their quiet and fast micro-USM, but of course it'll be more expensive than the Sigma.
